Adam Emerson, redefinED’s original editor, is now the director of parental choice for the Thomas B. Fordham Institute and runs a blog there called Choice Words. Adam covered education policy for newspapers in two states before joining the education reform movement. Before joining Fordham, he was the assistant director of policy and public affairs for Step Up For Students, a nonprofit group that administers the Florida Tax Credit Scholarship for low-income students and advocates for means-tested educational alternatives. A graduate of Michigan State University, Emerson covered education and social services at the Lansing (Mich.) State Journal through 2003, when he joined the staff of The Tampa (Fla.) Tribune, covering K-12 and higher education policy in Florida through 2009.
